Maple Iced Bacon Corn Bread Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 6 tsp baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup bacon fat (or oil)
  • 1 ½ cup milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 16 oz cooked and coarsely chopped bacon
  • Cast iron skillet (or baking pan)
Instructions:
Preheat oven at 400 degrees. Sift together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. In a small bowl, beat the eggs. Mix milk and bacon fat into the eggs. Create a well in the dry mix, and then add in half of your wet mixture. Mix in bacon pieces, then mix in the rest of the wet. Spread out half of the batter evenly in your (preferably) bacon greased cast iron skillet. Bake 20 – 25 minutes or until a toothpick once inserted comes out clean. Let sit in pan for 5 to 10 minutes, then pop out onto a rack to cool. Duplicate this process for additional layers.

Syrup Recipe
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ¼  cup sugar

Bring ingredients to a boil. Lower temperature to simmer or off. Using a measuring cup, measure out a ¼ cup to drizzle over your cake while still hot. When the second layer is hot, drizzle another ¼ cup over it.

Bring remaining mixture back to a boil until thickened to add to your icing.


Maple Icing Recipe

  • 1 stick of butter
  • 8 oz of cream cheese
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • ¼ cup of maple syrup
  • Maple syrup sauce

Whip butter and cream cheese together until light and fluffy. Add sugar and syrups and continue to whip well.

Take cake layer number one, and shave off sides evenly to will make it easier to ice. Remove shavings. Place second layer above to measure and line up sides evenly by shaving again. Remove layer number two.

Ice top of cake layer number one and place second layer on top, slowly. Ice the cake as a whole. Cover in more bacon for a heart attack inducing look, or reserve icing to warm, color, and drizzle in bacon shades. Whatever you do, you’ll love it. There’s no way to go wrong with bacon after all.

Bacon Cinnamon Roll Shot

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 oz. Bacon Infused Vodka
  • 2/3 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 1/3 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps

Directions : 

Pour the Irish cream and bacon infused vodka into a shot glass, and top with the cinnamon schnapps. Stir gently. Enjoy! A word of caution: consume immediately as the drink may curdle over time.

Bacon Chocolate Martini

Ingredients :

  • 1 oz. of Bacon Infused Vodka
  • 1 oz. Crème de Cacao
  • 1 1/2 oz. of Chocolate Liqueur
  • 2 oz. of half and half

Directions : 

Mix all the ingredients together in s shaker with ice, shake and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with bacon or chocolate covered bacon.

Bacon Bloody Mary

Ingredients :

  • 1½ oz. Bacon Infused Vodka in a pint glass filled with ice.
  • Fill glass with tomato juice
  • 2 dash of bacon salt
  • 4 dashes each of Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco

Directions : 

Shake and pour into a bacon salt rimmed pint glass. Garnish with a celery stalk and bacon!

The Bacon-Apple Shot

Ingredients :

  • 1/3 oz. of Infused Bacon Whiskey
  • 1/3 oz. of Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps
  • 1/3 oz. of Cranberry Juice
  • A splash of Sprite (if desired)

Directions : 

Pour Whiskey, sour apple pucker and cranberry juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a shot glass. Add a splash of Sprite­ if desired, and serve.

The Bacon Old Fashioned

Ingredients :

  • 2 oz. Bacon Infused Bourbon (or Whiskey)
  • 1/4 oz. maple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Twist of orange

Directions : 

In mixing glass, stir 2 ounces bacon-infused bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters with ice. Strain into chilled rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with orange twist.

  • 2 oz infused Jim Beam Bacon Bourbon**
  • ½ oz Sweet Vermouth
  • ½ oz 100% pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1-1/2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Directions : 

Combine all ingredients over ice in a mixing pint. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass with a julep strainer. If you like, garnish with a strip of crispy, good-quality bacon.
